Other ways you can help

Many people don’t have baby items to donate but would like to support us in some way, here’s some suggestions:

Make someone’s wishes come true with our Amazon wishlist

We always have a current Amazon wishlist of essential new items which we continually need to complement the preloved packs we send out, such as nappies, toiletries, changing mats, bottle teats and underwear. It’s a hassle-free, affordable and effective way to help local families in need. Deliveries are made direct to our office, which means they can be used that very same day if necessary. You could even do your shopping through Amazon Smile (see below) and then everyone really is winning.

Shopping makes you smile with Amazon

Amazon Smile is so easy to set up, just follow this link and select Stripey Stork as your chosen charity. Register using your usual Amazon login and when you shop through Amazon in future, just shop through the Smile link and Amazon will donate 0.5% of the price of your eligible purchases to us.

Do you shop online?

If you shop online you can join the Give As You Live scheme and choose Stripey Stork as your charity to support. You can raise money for us just by shopping online, with over 4200 participating retailers, including Amazon, John Lewis, Tesco, Sainsbury’s, eBay and Boots. The commission earned is turned into much needed funds for us.

Do you shop for your groceries in-store?

You can buy pre-paid in-store grocery cards from Give As You Live. Your reloadable grocery store cards, available for all major supermarket chains, can be ordered online, will be sent in the post and are a great way to budget for your shopping, whilst raising vital funds for us. Spending £100 a week will raise an impressive £100 a year, at no extra cost to you.

Are you a dab hand at eBay?

As we are a listed eBay charity partner, you can donate some or all of your sale proceeds to us. Perhaps those items we were unable to take could help us after all? Here’s a simple guide to setting this up. You can also choose to add gift aid to your donation, providing you are a UK taxpayer, meaning that your donation is worth even more.

Do you have an unwanted car?

You can turn your unwanted car into cash for us with Giveacar. They arrange a free collection from your home at a time that’s convenient for you. Your car will then be auctioned or scrapped, and the proceeds will be donated back to us. To find out more call 02077364242 or see Giveacar.

Our kindness fund goes a long way

You can choose to set up a monthly direct debit via Local Giving. These regular funds are used directly to buy new items needed to complement our preloved packs, such as new mattresses for a donated moses baskets. And to make your money go even further, we benefit from buying such items in bulk from In Kind Direct at a fraction of the retail price. Having such funds in reserve means that we are also well-placed to respond quickly to one-off requests for specific items.

Are you feeling lottery lucky?

Then sign up for the weekly Tandridge Together Lottery and you’re in with a chance of winning up to £25k, and many other prizes. Tickets are only £1 a week, with 50% of the proceeds going to us, your chosen charity.

Donate other items

We are always very grateful for the following:

  • Items we can add to our preloved packs – new nappies, wipes, creams, lotions etc. We use these to make up mini hampers.
  • Treats for Mum – new and unopened shampoo, body wash, moisturiser, lip balms etc. We always like to include a treat for Mum in with our stork deliveries.
  • Coffee, tea, biscuits etc. that we can share with our team of volunteers at Donation Station events and when they are helping out at Stork HQ.

All the help we receive is very much needed and appreciated, thank you for doing your part. Please get in touch at info@stripeystork.org.uk if you have any queries on how to help.
