Who we help

donate to women's shelter - clothes, toys and other baby and children's itemsWe support children and parents experiencing hardship by working in partnership with social services such as children’s centres, health visitors, women’s shelters and other social service agencies. All donations go directly to the families they support, and each item to someone who specifically needs it.

We do not support individuals or families directly. If you are expecting a baby or need help with clothes, toys or other items for your children you can ask your health visitor, children’s centre or social worker to contact us on your behalf.

If you are a health professional or work for a social service agency, and would like to find out more about our service please contact us using this email address refer@stripeystork.org.uk

Our service is provided free of charge and there are no assessment criteria but note that items need to be collected from our offices by the agency making the referral.

I thank you for everything you do in the local community. We often have women leaving our refuge and settling in the local area. Very often they do not have the items they need to keep their babies and children safe. ie cots/safety gates high chairs etc. Your organisation has been a very valuable asset to these vulnerable families.

Stripey Stork has made a huge difference to families who have no belongings or money provide for their children. The families are extremely grateful and will be  requesting further support as their children grow. They are also keen to recycle items.

Having used this service recently to provide a mother with every item required for a new baby, I cannot fault the quality of the goods provided and the efficient and timely manner in which volunteers ensured the items were delivered personally to the family’s home.

I was with a lady today who told me how Stripey Stork had sorted her 1 year old out with a cot as he had been in a travel cot for a year. She was so grateful.
